About Hug-A-Smile

A little history

Years ago I surprised dear friends and family with little houses and shoes that had been transformed from their wedding invitations and birth announcement cards that I had received over time. Soon after I started to get asked to make ornaments that they could give as a present, and as the requests kept multiplying, in 1998, the idea of Hug-a-Smile was born.

After a few years I came across a box of announcements that somehow had been forgotten in the shuffle of life and my travels across country and continents. Seeing each card made me smile and brought back cherished memories. I decided it was time to dust off Hug-a-Smile and give others a chance to give their families and friends a way to keep memories alive!

Now I am excited to share the new face of Hug-a-Smile with you!

And yes, I am continuing to  gift from my box of cards after I transform them into mementos, so they once again can bring a smile to the face of the person I receive them from. Enjoy, Hug-a-Smile!

The great art of giving consists in this: the gift should cost very little and yet be greatly coveted, so that it may be the more highly appreciated.
